This room already had incredible bones—soaring ceilings, beautiful natural light, and a classic fireplace—but the scale made it feel a bit cold. Our client leans contemporary, so we kept the lines clean and the styling minimal, but brought in cool neutrals and soft blues to add warmth, texture, and a lived-in feel.

Tall, tailored drapery helped emphasize the height while adding softness and movement. A tonal palette keeps things calm and cohesive, with just enough contrast in the art and accents to make it feel layered and intentional. It’s elegant, airy, and still somewhere you want to curl up at the end of the day!

Hi, it’s me—finally popping in with a proper hello!
I’m Isabel, the principal designer behind du Clos Interiors. I spent six years working in finance before realizing (mid-pandemic, like many of us) that it wasn’t the path I wanted to stay on.

At the time, I was using my blog as a creative outlet—but interior design had always been in the back of my mind. With the support of my husband and family, I went back to school, earned my master’s in interior architecture from GWU, and slowly, du Clos Interiors came to life.

Outside of design, I love to travel, host, and try new recipes—and those personal passions often find their way into my work. I believe the best spaces reflect the people who live in them, and I love weaving a client’s story into each project through collected objects, layered textures, and thoughtful functionality.

I’m so excited to start sharing more of my world here. Follow along for project reveals, design tips, and behind-the-scenes moments!
