Today let’s talk about tree stakes. While they are important to establish a tree when first planted, leaving tree stakes too long is detrimental to the tree health. 😫 Once trees have been planted for at least two seasons, and have a trunk diameter of one inch or more, then it’s time to remove the stakes. The trunk needs some movement during winds to build stability and strengthen the trunk. 💨🌳

Also, I’ve seen where the tree trunk literally grows around the wires. This is irreversible and restrains growth. 👎🏼 The wires pull down and keep the tree from growing upward as well.

And lastly, the stakes rust and look bad after a while. Your yard will get an instant makeover once these are removed! 🤩 If you need help removing them, text me to set up an appointment.
