This video is a big milestone for me and for Charley’s Decks. After nearly 20 years of building decks with TimberTech, they reached out to take part in a professional stair system study. The goal? Put real world deck stair systems to the test. Timbertech’s aluminum framed system, a competitors system, and traditional wood stair construction. The goal was to compare strength, consistency, quality and installation time.

This wasn’t theory or marketing hype. This was hands on, job site level testing done by professional engineers, camera crews, analysts, R&D managers and someone who actually installs these systems every day. Being trusted to evaluate products side-by-side, honestly and objectively, is something I don’t take lightly. It speaks volumes about the confidence TimberTech has in their materials and the trust they’ve built with contractors who value quality, safety, and long term performance.

I was 10 years old when this photo was taken. Not playing video games. Not sitting inside…instead, I was outside building a deck!

This is where it started by learning the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way from the ground up. What began as a kid handing tools to my dad and swinging a hammer turned into a lifelong passion and a professional deck building business serving homeowners who want quality that lasts.
