Harvest East

Harvest East Welcome to our place to celebrate all we harvest in our garden and create on our homestead. We milk jersey cows and keep chickens, sheep, and hogs.

We also grow cut flowers. How does your garden grow?

Made and Trade Days at Mt Olive Mercantile & RV Park is tomorrow. We have been sorting plants and packing up. My son has some beautiful gun racks, made from locally milled lumber. These are great for keeping outdoor gear organized. I keep one where my 5 year old can get to his bb gun, bow, and fishing pole.

I have plants galore: lemon balm, nasturtium, moonflower, midnight blue salvia, eucalyptus, and more! I am also gonna try and get in the garden and harvest peas, greens, broccoli, and herbs.

The rain has the creek uncrossable, we are praying the water goes down before tomorrow morning.

What do ya’ll think of this little garden? I had an idea for a portable garden bed and had my son put some slats on this old bee hive box. It is planted with three lettuces, three kale, one nasturtium, and one habanada pepper plant. I am going to fill the next one with all nasturtiums.

Im thinking of bringing some to the Made and Trade Days Mt Olive Mercantile & RV Park May 30.

Im over here admiring this wood duck house my son and husband made. My son spotted one at the creek and became quiet curious about the beautiful duck. After some studying up on them, we decided to build some wood duck boxes for them to nest in and place them creekside.

My children and I went to visit The Brockwell Barn and I was charmed by what Madison has done with this place and her plans for the future. She has the loft upstairs set up for children’s parties with little themed playrooms, adorable!

Madison helped two of my children with horses they bought, that had never been rode. She is a knowledgeable trainer and her love of the horse is a wonder to witness. She has summer camps and so much more. Ya’ll follow her page to see what is happening at her barn.

Hey y’all 🤍

Welcome to The Brockwell Barn 🐴

This has been a dream in the making, and we’re so excited to finally share it with everyone. We’re building a place for kids, families, and horse lovers to come learn, grow, and enjoy time at the barn.

From EFA lessons and horse training to pony parties and more, there’s already a lot happening here… and we’re just getting started.

If you want to support us, tap the 3 dots on this page and invite your friends 🫶🏻 it truly means the world to a small business like ours.

Drop a comment and tell me where you’re from 🤍 This photo is from our first big Spring Break event… one we won’t ever forget!!! 🐴

These pea portraits are for all ya’ll who aren’t growing them in your garden. It is a beautiful thing to plant a seed and watch it grow into food. We are picking peas and eating them as we please, while we tend the garden. Notice the changes from flower to pod.

I made these two posies for a dear friend and her mother. The one on the right is full of flowers and herbs to make tea, including chamomile, cilantro, lemon balm, rose, and bachelor button. (It does not include the poppy behind it). I love a bouquet that makes a nourishing tea.

I hope you all find time to work in the garden today.

Spring days on the farm are full of surprises. From ripe strawberries to baby lambs, everyday is full of work and wonder. Most of these plants I collect seeds from. If you’d like some for your garden, contact me.

I have brought my dahlia tubers out from the cellar. I am dividing them up and replanting, but have way more then I have room for. If you want dahlias in your garden, reach out to me, or order them from my Harvest East Etsy shop.
I did not get my tubers labeled last year, so these are mystery tubers that may be any of the varieties shown in the pictures.
6$ a piece.
