2026 Water Safety Instructor Course at McLarty Aquatic Center

Brevard County Central Area Parks and Recreation will be offering a Water Safety Instructor course at McLarty Aquatic Center located at 790 Barton Boulevard in Rockledge in April.
Water Safety Instructor Training days and times:
• (Participants must attend all classes and schedule a swim test prior to course)
• April 20 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
• April 24 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
• April 25 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• April 26 from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Participants will need access to the internet as this course has online components. All classes must be attended. Cost is $298.12 and must be paid upon successful completion of a skills test. Class size is limited. Pre-registration is recommended with a minimum of five participants to hold the class.
Interested candidates must be 15 years of age, maintain position on back for 1 minute, tread water for 1 minute, and be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and 15 yards of butterfly.
Upon completion, participants will receive American Red Cross certification as a Water Safety Instructor, and be able to teach swim lesson and water safety presentation.

Intercoastal Pool and Spa Builders, a company established by Thomas J. Arnault, has been building beautiful swimming pools in Brevard County since 1992. Although residential construction is Tom’s specialty; he has a strong background in building commercial pools and aquatic complexes throughout the United States. Intercoastal Pools is a member of the FPSA (Florida Pool & Spa Association),HBCA (Homebuilders & Contractors Association), and the Better Business Bureau.

Tom strives for complete customer satisfaction in all phases of pool construction. Everyone in the company takes pride in their knowledge and experience (over 100 years combined!!!) of pool design, installation and maintenance. Tom adamantly believes in using only top grade materials and implementing the latest technology in all phases of construction. Most importantly, the owners are personally involved throughout the construction process to oversee that his quality standards are maintained.
