Our backyard is finally starting to come together 🌿

One of our biggest goals with this space was creating a backyard that works with our lifestyle. More room for gardening, cooking outside, hosting family, and actually slowing down enough to enjoy being out here.

Outdoor Enhancements LLC built this beautiful lanai extension and outdoor kitchen for us, and it already feels like such a transformation. We still have a pergola with star jasmine coming next, but it’s exciting seeing the vision slowly come to life.

I’ve seen a lot of content about this Vego Garden self-watering citrus planter, but one thing I rarely hear mentioned is the overflow.
That seems especially important when the planter sits outside through Florida rainy season 🌧️
I was cautious with my soil mix and added extra bark + perlite because self watering systems need air spaces around roots too.

Testing these in self-watering planters:
🍊 Meiwa kumquat
🍋 Improved Meyer lemon
🍋 Key lime
