What a hunt and what an Oklahoma buck!!

"First off, I want to thank the Good Lord for blessing me with the opportunity to harvest this incredible Oklahoma buck!

The crazy thing is, I had zero history with this deer. Not a single picture of him all year! I decided to make a mock scrape using Jinx’em Scents Misfortune, and that very night this big boy showed up and started working it!

Fast forward two days, and I’m sitting in the blind when he comes in from behind me chasing a doe. He ends up just 30 yards to my left, and I’m thinking it’s about to happen!

Well, that’s when things got interesting! I went to c**k the hammer on my T/C Encore muzzleloader, and it wouldn’t budge! Here I am with a giant buck 30 yards away, and I can’t even get my gun ready! I had to break the gun open and close it again to get the hammer to engage, all while trying not to get busted!

I swear it felt like an hour before I finally got everything right, but it was probably closer to five minutes! Talk about getting your heart pumping!

Finally, I got settled in, squeezed the trigger, and he dropped right in his tracks! What an unbelievable feeling!

I also want to give a huge thanks to Rocky Burrus for helping me this offseason design a deer haven across my place. Between the TSI work and creating new bedding areas, we’ve put a lot of work into improving the habitat, and it’s awesome seeing it start to pay off!

Big shoutout to Jinx’em Scents as well! Misfortune definitely lived up to its name for this guy!

Above all, thank you, Lord, for another unforgettable hunt and an incredible Oklahoma whitetail! "

Hello buddy....

Sometimes I just have to thank God for my blessings... drought conditions and perfect timing on putting seeds in the ground has been rewarding to see. I can not thank those enough that trust me to plant and manage the ground they hunt. Being a wildlife management service and helping design and create habitat that maximizes your chances is hard work but the rewards are coming in now daily.
