Hello friends, family, and our beautiful plant community,
My name is Veronica, and together with my partner Ben, we run The Plant Peddlers—a small, homegrown plant business built with love, care, and an endless passion for growing and sharing greenery with others.
On June 17th, I had a serious fall that shattered both my tibia and fibula and fractured my ankle. I underwent emergency surgery and now face 3–6 months of recovery—limited mobility, physical therapy, and a lot of uncertainty.
Our little plant business makes up half our income. While Ben works full-time at Sprouts and DoorDash, I handle most of the daily tasks—watering, potting, propagating, prepping for markets, macrame-making, porch sales…
All of which I can’t physically do right now with a non-weight-bearing injury.
To make things harder, we live in a two-story house, and I can’t access our bedroom. We’re hoping to raise funds to cover daily expenses, medical bills, and a recliner I can safely sleep in while I heal.
I’ve never broken a bone or had surgery before—this whole experience has been painful, humbling, and overwhelming. Asking for help isn’t easy… but we need it.
If you’re able to donate or share, we’ve created a GoFundMe to help us stay afloat during this recovery.
