Clearwater Construction is currently accepting resumes for a Shop/Yard Laborer. Must be able to pass a drug test. Experience with a construction company is helpful. Good pay, benefits, vacation, 401K.

Job requirements include maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Shop/Yard facility, perform selected maintenance, light janitorial duties and moving tools/equipment around. This person will be required to perform light maintenance on tools, equipment and the company's fleet. This position requires frequent work outside.

This position also requires field office setup on job sites. Those requirements include: set up of job trailers with furniture and equipment, familiarity with electrical wiring, and coordinating/ interfacing with power and cable companies in order to set up service. The Shop/Yard Laborer may necessitate light carpentry and/or laborer duties at times. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older with a good driving record.

QUALIFICATIONS
• General knowledge of commercial construction materials and tools and their specifications.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 + pounds.
• Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, and bend over to lift and move objects.
• The ability to take direction from multiple supervisors.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Summary:
Clearwater Construction, Inc. is hiring experienced Superintendents to provide on-site coordination for all phases of heavy/highway bridge construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendents shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Superintendent:
- Provide leadership and establish working relationships with all onsite personnel (including subcontractors, inspectors, employees, and the public).
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Create work plans and 2-week schedule look-ahead.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Dispatch staff for tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required permits and inspections with local jurisdictions when necessary.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Maintain daily field log of activities on the jobsite.
- Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
- Walk all activities on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Preside over on-site meetings designed to coordinate the work.
- Ensure that the job site is always kept clean and organized.
- Take the lead regarding Safety and Quality Control.

Secondary Functions:
- Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site.
- Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
- Preside at pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor.
- Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.
- Assist in hiring field employees.

Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans and specifications. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

To perform this job successfully, the individual will be expected to use Word Processing software (Microsoft Office); Estimating and Operations software (B2W); Adobe Acrobat (PDF) software on both an iPad and laptop computer.

Ability to manage 2 to 5 subordinate Foreman. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. A successful candidate may be required to directly supervise 1 to 5 non-supervisory employees.

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety is of the utmost importance. All Clearwater Construction, Inc. safety policies and procedures must be followed at all times – no exceptions.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

This position will be responsible for assisting the Estimating Team in the preparation and submittal of bids for public and private Heavy Civil, Bridge, and/or Foundation and Geotechnical projects to ensure that Clearwater Western is a responsive bidder. This position will be responsible for contacting subcontractors and material suppliers for quotes, organize and record information accurately, review and prepare bid documents, enter bid information into bidding software and perform-take offs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review project plans, requirements and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and develop scope of work, labor and equipment costs.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing of scope either through self-perform production-based estimate or unit price estimating.
• Identify bid qualifications, risks, and assumptions along with quantities and pricing.
• Review and understand all bid documents and material requirements to assess constructability and product material requirements. Attend pre-bid meetings and projects sites when requested.
• Obtain all quotes for bid packages sent and follow up with phone call if not received. Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids.
• Prepare bid packages; involves comparison and analysis of competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Analyze subcontractor bonding capabilities, workload and prior performance relative to project.
• Prepare estimates according to the requirements of multiple delivery systems. Review quotes and estimates and prepare presentations to the Estimating Team.
• Utilize existing cost history as a check to complete estimate.
• Comprehend contract requirements for diversity compliance.
• Can travel occasionally and act independently with little or no supervision and as a team player.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A four-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent required. Some field experience is a plus.
• Experience working for a General Contractor as an estimator bidding on DOT or heavy highway projects is preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction assemblies, scopes of work, and all project phases.
• Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction plans, business documents, technical specifications/procedures, and government regulations.
• Must have excellent attention to detail, the ability to recognize discrepancies and meet critical deadlines.
• Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as apply basic principles of algebra and geometry as it relates to construction.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands, while maintaining extreme accuracy.
• Well organized, flexible and ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to work independently, yet within a team environment.
• Must have strong skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), as well as strong overall computer skills.
• Experience with B2W Estimate or similar estimating software is preferred, but not required.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to effectively present information both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess effective Leadership skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license issued within the United States clear of multiple and/or major violations.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and motor vehicle records check; a criminal background check will also be conducted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose heavy equipment malfunctions, and conduct repairs in a timely fashion to maximize equipment uptime.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required on construction equipment, vehicles, trailers, and small tools
• Inspect and evaluate equipment for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems, damage and safety issues
• Test repaired equipment to ensure it is operating properly
• Document repairs made for accurate and detailed equipment work order history
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner
SKILLS + REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience with construction equipment and vehicles is preferred. Crane and drilling equipment experience a plus.
• Tier 4 emission experience a plus
• Ability to in work in unstable positions, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, sitting, standing on feet for long periods of time, and occasionally lifting 50 or more pounds supported or unsupported
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repair skills
• A positive can-do attitude to work as a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
