So I've done a thing...

Idahome improvements is now Mint Painting.

If you didn't know, I spent about 2 years working as a painter for a local paint company. During that time I was also still doing idahome improvements jobs.

After 2 years of doing both, I decided that I couldn't do them both anymore so I left the paint company and kept fulltime doing idahome improvements.

Well as it turns out, I'd rather niche into 1 thing that I know I'm good at. Painting. It's predictable, fairly stress free and fun. Well most of the time that is.

This doesn't mean that I won't do decks and pergolas anymore, just probably a lot less.

How about from ? This deck was literally falling apart. The homeowners were putting rocks in the holes of the deck boards so people wouldn't fall in. This is a MUCH stronger exact replica of the original.

So this is my favorite pergola to date.

Size is 21x16x10
Made with 8x8 doug fir posts and 2x10 rafters.

Color is semi transparent chestnut at 50%. Sprayed and backrolled prior to assembly.

Besides it being over 100° everyday with no shade this was a fun one.

We are working on the outside now. The inside is 99% complete. Going to finish this deck today and starting the second this afternoon. Using the

At the beginning of week 4 we have most inside things finished.
Floor, cabinets, ceiling is painted, all new lighting, new smoke detectors, a large set of built ins around the washer and dryer, French doors, custom pullout drawers in all the bottom cabinets.

Still have a few days to go left on the inside, then we move to the outside

Had the drywaller in today. Made lots of progress in a short time.
Electrician was in last night and got all the new lights and switches in.

Also... the island is taking shape. I'm excited about this.

Here is the . This has now become my new favorite project. I absolutely love how the brown that the homeowners chose, pops with the black brackets.

The back yard faces west and the owners couldn't be outside anytime after 1130am due to the intense sun exposure. Now they are able to spend as much time on their patio as they would like.

Sometimes 1 ladder isn't enough. In this case 3 isn't either, but it's better than 1.
