Good Morning Followers,
Today I am excited to announce the addition of Connie Slosek to the WJL Restoration Services team.
Connie brings with her many years of sewing experience and is going to be a great addition to the team.
Connie has her own line of custom sewn products so stay tuned as we begin to highlight her amazing abilities.
Please welcome her and if you have any projects that you have been contemplating such as patio furniture cushions that are worn and tired, custom draperies, or even the patio umbrella that Sarah was so happy with. Let us know and we will be happy to work up a quote for you.

Job Description:

Study work orders to determine the amount and type of materials required to cover work pieces
Follow sketches, patterns or blueprints to indicate cutting lines on fabrics using chalks, pencils or paint
Measure and cut materials using manual or automated cutting instruments
Confer with customers prior to upholstery to determine their color, style, and fabric preferences
Remove anchoring tacks and strip upholstered furniture down to its wooden frame
Examine furniture frames, springs, and webbings to identify defects
Apply their knowledge of upholstery to build or repair upholstered furniture using a variety of hand or power tools
Ensure projects are completed and delivered before set deadline
Cover wooden frame with soft materials such as cotton, felt pad, fiber or foam to improve texture and appearance
Work with tools and materials such as glue, staples, saw, cement, tacks and nail guns
Secure work pieces and materials onto production equipment
Conduct routine maintenance of work tools and upholstery machine
Finish upholstered furniture by attaching ornament trims, buttons, buckles, and grommets
Operate sewing machine to sew upholstery and join various sections of covering fabric
Replace defective or worn upholstery spring, webbing or wooden frame.
Willing to learn vinyl and leather repair and restoration.

Requirements – Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
• Driver’s License Required
• Proven work experience as an upholsterer.
• Excellent design skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
• Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
• Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
• Experience with automotive upholstery as well as household and commercial furniture.

Ken came to us with some 1980’s style flex steel RV seats that were cloth and to say worn would be an understatement. First job was to evict the mice.
Then redesign how they were made to compensate for vinyl instead of cloth. They came out unbelievable and again I have some amazing help that makes it all possible! Thank you Ken for trusting us with your project!
