Our Consulting Department recently performed a tree risk assessment on a mature pine at the Aldo Leopold Conservation site. Assessments like this help identify potential hazards, evaluate tree health and structure, and provide recommendations for managing risk, while keeping preservation at the forefront whenever possible.
The landscape surrounding the Leopold Shack and Farm holds a special place in conservation history. The Shack, a rebuilt chicken coop along the Wisconsin River, was once part of the Leopold family’s cherished retreats and is now the heart of the Aldo Leopold Foundation’s programs. Today, thousands of visitors experience this landscape through tours, classes, and events, learning about the ecological and ethical relationships between people and the soil, water, plants, and wildlife.
We’re proud to contribute our expertise to caring for the trees that are part of this living classroom and the legacy of conservation that continues to inspire visitors today. Mature trees are valuable parts of our landscapes and ecosystems. With the right knowledge and care, we can help ensure they remain safe, healthy, and standing for years to come. 🌳
