Treeland Nurseries

Treeland Nurseries Treeland is a family owned and operated retail/wholesale nursery based out of Mesa, AZ.

Treeland Nurseries found its start as a hobby in the backyard of its founders, Ed and Dorothy Waltemeyer. In the late 1950’s, Ed and Dorothy turned their interest of growing trees from seed into the thriving family-owned and operated business that it is today. Since opening their first retail location on Southern just off of Country Club in 1969, Treeland has moved their primary location to Countr

y Club Drive just off of Guadalupe Road and has expanded to service the wholesale nursery market with the addition of over 100 acres of growing facilities in the Chandler and Gilbert area. Each of their three locations can be easily identified by the iconic “W” palm trees, created in recognition of the Waltemeyer name. Now run by Ed and Dorothy’s four children with the third generation working there as well, Treeland Nurseries has grown to be one of Arizona's largest wholesale and retail nursery operations.

Lavender may be low-maintenance when it comes to water and soil, but pruning is where many gardeners can sometimes go wrong.

⚠️ Avoid the temptation to cut it all the way back—removing too much will stress the plant and prevent regrowth. Instead, stick to light shaping and deadheading after blooms, never cut into woody growth, and never remove more than a third of the plant. Timing matters too—different lavender types require different schedules.

Bird friends nibbling on your fruit? 🐦🍇 Try tying mylar ribbon near your grapes—the shimmer and movement helps keep birds at bay (that's what you see shimmering in the wind sometimes at vineyards!). Other gardener-approved tricks: slip mesh jewelry bags over ripening fruit, or use bird netting to cover entire branches.

One of our hottest picks for summer color is Jazzy Jewel® Hibiscus 💛🌺

This tropical stunner thrives in the heat and blooms its heart out all summer with vivid flowers that hummingbirds can’t resist. Thick, glossy dark green leaves add a lush backdrop, making every bloom pop. Best part–Jazzy Jewel® focuses its energy on nonstop flowers, not sky-high growth, making it a dream for bold containers and sunny borders.

☀️ Zone 9–11 or ready for your patio anywhere after last frost
💡 Pro tip: In cooler zones, bring it indoors before frost to keep the good vibes going
