Alocasia fact of the day: Sometimes the best thing your Alocasia can do is absolutely nothing. 🌿😂

Every winter, people panic over humidity levels, soil mixes, fertilizers, and watering schedules… meanwhile Alocasias are over here saying, “I’m just taking a nap.”

Many Alocasias naturally go dormant when temperatures drop and daylight hours get shorter. They may lose leaves, stop growing, and disappear down to a corm, only to come roaring back when conditions improve.

Fun fact: Alocasias grow from corms, which store energy underground and help them survive unfavorable conditions. They’re basically built for a seasonal reset.

And while everyone worries they’re impossible plants, my sister’s Alocasias in South Carolina thrive year after year. Sometimes less panic and more patience is the secret. 💚

So if your Alocasia is taking a winter vacation, don’t throw it away. It might just be resting before its next big comeback. 🌱✨

🐝 Saving the Bees – Part 6 (The Finale) 💚🌿

What started as a swarm of bees looking for a home turned into one of the most fascinating experiences I’ve ever witnessed.

After days of searching for someone willing to relocate the bees safely and alive, I finally found Mike. For hours, he carefully removed each piece of honeycomb they had built in such a short amount of time, all while searching for the queen to ensure the colony would stay together.

He smoked them, scooped them, vacuumed them, and patiently collected every last bee. Watching the process was incredible. Every step was done with care and respect for these tiny creatures that play such an important role in our ecosystem. 🐝✨

The biggest surprise? This colony didn’t have a queen. Once relocated to his apiary, Mike provided them with a queen, giving them the opportunity to thrive.

A few weeks later, they’re doing exactly that. They’re happy, growing, caring for their young, building new comb, and repairing their hive just as nature intended. 💛

I’m so grateful these girls were given a second chance. What could have easily ended differently became a story of conservation, education, and community. Thank you, Mike, for choosing to save them.

The bees have officially moved on to their forever home, and I couldn’t be happier knowing they’re thriving. 🌿🐝✨

A day at the zoo with my favorite little nature lover. 🦒🌿💚

Watching Maiah explore the Palm Beach Zoo, get excited over every animal, and soak in the beauty of nature reminded me so much of myself. From plants to animals, she’s always curious, always learning, and always stopping to appreciate the little things.

Maybe a love for nature runs in the family. 🥹✨

Today was filled with adventure, laughs, and lots of memories with my mini me. 💚🌱

Everyone’s worried about packing for the plant show...

Meanwhile, I’m over here making sure my plants experience a tropical rainstorm before the trip. 🌧️🌿😂

If you’re coming to the Southeast Rare Plant Market this weekend, just know these plants have been showered, pampered, hydrated, and treated like royalty.

The goal? To have them looking like they just stepped out of the rainforest and onto my vendor table. ✨🌱

Charleston, we’re almost ready for you. 💚

“They say if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

The truth? If you do what you love, you’ll probably work harder and longer than you ever imagined… because you care. 💚🌿

Behind every plant on my table are hours of propagating, watering, repotting, cleaning leaves, packing, planning, traveling, and preparing. Not because I have to, but because I genuinely love sharing this hobby and this community with others.

This week is all about getting ready for Charleston and the Southeast Rare Plant Market. Every new leaf, every plant, and every late night is leading up to another opportunity to connect with fellow plant lovers and share what I love most. ✨

If you’re in the area, come say hi!

Palmstreet understood the assignment 🌿✨🥹

I’ve been hunting for this plant for a LONG time, and today it finally joined my collection. As a plant seller, I love helping others find their dream plants… but as a collector? This one was on my own wishlist. 💚

Now for the important question…

🌱 Can anyone name this plant?

Bonus points if you know why plant collectors get so excited when they find one. 👀✨

POV: You wake up, make your matcha, and half your variegated plants decided to gift you a new leaf overnight. 🌿✨🥹

There is honestly no better feeling than walking into your plant room and seeing unfurling leaves everywhere. The Albos are pushing growth, the Aureas are showing off, and every new leaf feels like a tiny reward for all the patience, watering, and plant-parent worrying. 💚

Some people check their phone first thing in the morning… I check for new leaves. 😂🌱
