In addition to completing the first month of his internship, Ross Gibson was also declared the winner of our first Annual JPA Chili Cook Off. The winning recipe was a White Chicken Chili -a true family recipe with standout ingredients like cream cheese and a chili powder/red pepper spice blend.

What has been your favorite work project so far at JPA?

"Probably the Bay Pines VA Dental Clinic I am currently working on. I feel like on this project, not only is the current design iteration fun and intriguing, but so has been the design process and I feel that I am growing as a designer because of it."

How do you define success?

"Webster’s Dictionary…just kidding! First, setting goals you can be proud of, and then working hard to achieve those goals while loving life on the way."

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

"Not only am I an architect, I married an architect!"

As we approach another anniversary of 9/11, we pause to reflect and pay tribute to the victims, survivors and heroes of that tragic day.

We are grateful to the men and women who served to protect the security of our nation, as well as those who continue to fight for our freedom. At John Poe Architects, we take great pride in our work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide physical spaces meant to best serve those who have served us.

The Defense Department honors the memories of those who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pa.

This school expansion project places focus on creating common, study and recreational spaces for students, filled with natural light to best serve the needs of future learners.

During World War II, the Battle of Normandy began on June 6, 1944, when more than 160,000 Allied forces landed on France’s Normandy region beaches. Codenamed as Operation Overlord, the invasion catalyzed the beginning of the end of the war in Europe. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower referred to the operation as a crusade in which, “We will accept nothing less than full victory.” The largest amphibious assault in history included more than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft that supported the landing. Today, we honor those who fought on the fortified beaches, especially the 4,414 Allied soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives that day.
