We are busy removing protective frost cloths and waking up our plants, which are grown in sync with nature—not in a greenhouse. I always get so excited seeing those pops of green break through the dormancy. Message us for our Spring availability—both retail and wholesale. All plants are chemical free and pollinator safe! The nursery officially opens April 10.

Wild rabbits survive winter on dry grasses and bark. Fresh vegetables cause GI stasis — a painful, often fatal digestive shutdown.

- Rabbit digestive systems are calibrated for low-moisture, high-fiber forage
- In winter, their gut bacteria specialize in breaking down woody browse
- Sudden wet vegetables ferment too fast, producing gas they can't expel
- GI stasis stops their entire system — they stop eating and die within days
- Wild rabbits don't recognize grocery produce as dangerous
- Leaving brush piles and unmowed edges helps them more than any food

You thought you were sharing your salad. You gave them a stomachache they can't survive.

On this gloomy Friday in January, I find myself longing to see this beauty again in my summer garden--Monarda punctata (dotted bee balm). Can you hear the bumblebees buzzing around too?

Merry Christmas all! 🎄

I’m running a little late, but the unexpected warmer temps this past week helped me get the rest of my 3,600+ plants to bed for the next 3 months. If you’re interested in seeing my native plant availability, send me a message.

Another white beauty that prefers a well-drained spot in full sun to partial shade--Silene stellata (starry campion). It primarily attracts moths, because the flowers are adapted to attract them: 1) white petals, 2) a long floral tube, and 3) a strong scent released at night.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: I have 10 native Amorpha fruticosa (false indigo) shrubs available for $5 each, plus 6% sales tax. They are a fantastic alternative to the invasive, non-native butterfly bush (Buddleia spp.). Perfect if you have a wet area that needs "drying out." These water-loving shrubs form thickets to do the job. First come, first served--message me. Pickup at 5 Messick Drive, Middletown, PA. Will ship too if buyer covers the cost.
