🌱 West Texas Lawn Season Is HERE — Let’s Get After It! 🌱
April means it’s go-time for your Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Fescue lawns. If you want that deep green, healthy yard heading into summer, now’s when it starts.
Here’s how we do it right in West Texas:
✔️ Fertilize Smart – Wait until your lawn is fully green and actively growing (late April–early May). Use a slow-release blend to avoid burning and keep steady growth.
✔️ Don’t Overdo Nitrogen – Around 1 lb per 1,000 sq ft is the sweet spot. Too much = fast growth + more problems in our dry climate.
✔️ Fix Yellow Grass the Right Way – Yellowing? That’s usually iron deficiency, not lack of fertilizer. Add chelated iron instead of dumping more nitrogen.
✔️ Water Deep, Not Often – In this West Texas heat, deep watering builds strong roots that can handle the drought.
✔️ Mow Like a Pro – Keep it consistent, but never cut more than 1/3 of the blade at once.
✔️ Stay Ahead of W**ds – Pre-emergent is key early in the season before weeds even get started.
If you want your lawn standing out this year, this is the time to lock it in. 💪🌿
