I have a beautiful iris called “Buongiorno” that only puts up one bloom stalk each year since I got it three years ago and never really increases much. So I’m going to move it an just cut down the stalk. Is it best to wait six weeks to transfer it to a new location or can I do it now?

The gardens are finally winding down! Only “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Final Bow” to go. It’s been a whirlwind of color and surprises! For the last few weeks I feel like I have spent my day either photographing these beauties or editing / naming said photos. Now the task of cutting bloom stalks has begun and along with that cutting off / pulling browned leaves and weeding. Makes me tired thinking about it😴
Many people have asked if I’m selling. Well that’s going to depend on how fast I can get all this cleanup done in my gardens. I put that as my first priority so at this point it’s a maybe but I can revisit that question in a month or so. Happy gardening everyone!

Another iris that caught my eye this year and it’s it’s second year of blooming , is Anton Mego’s “ Seperate Ways” ( Sutton Iris Garden) I love the colors and edging around the standards/ falls! I don’t think she was anything special last year so she’s one of those girls that needs to mature before her beauty really shines.
