When we moved here 3 years ago, this whole area was full of weeds about 3 feet tall. I had dreams of filling it with flowers so we started digging and pulling weeds out that first fall. The next spring we had one little asparagus plant pop up. I realized I ripped up about a 10-15 year old root that first year! 😭 Hard lesson to learn but I've left it alone since and it's been recovering nicely. Hoping to get a decent harvest for our family next spring 💚

Made a little salsa with the Chinese Five Color Pepper. The taste was so unique! A citrus taste that makes your mouth water with flavor, then the heat kicks in. My husband who loves spicy food said it was tolerable, for me it was extremely spicy 😆🔥 It gave the salsa a wonderful flavor and the spice is just right when it's mixed in. Definitely a must try!
