We want to give our customers plenty of notice that DashBro’s will be out of the office June 7th–14th enjoying some much-needed family time. ☀️🌴

If you are one of our regular weekly maintenance customers, Joey will be handling your scheduled cleanings while we’re away.

For all other services, we will be unavailable until we return.

A few quick notes while we’re gone:

• Have a leak or drip? Please hang tight until we return.
• Not getting good flow from your jets? Try backwashing or cleaning your filters.
• Pool looking cloudy or turning green? We recommend having your water tested and following the recommended chemical treatment plan.
• Pump or equipment issues? contact Becky at Aquarian Pools & Spas for assistance or Brandon at Leslie’s Service Department.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to getting back to work when we return! Thank you for supporting our small business.

Yes, even on weekends — we’re out here making sure every client is taken care of! 🙌

This week is our busiest of the year. Everyone wants their pool open for Memorial Day, and we are doing our absolute best to make that happen for all 80+ clients on our schedule the next 5 days. (Jeremy will be off work this weekend to celebrate his 40th birthday and will not be available for service calls.)

To help us help you, please make sure the following are done before we arrive:

• ✅ Breaker ON — make sure the breaker to your pump area is switched on
• 💧 Water level UP — water needs to be IN the skimmer so we can start the system and check for leaks
• 🌊 Cover pumped off — if you have a solid safety cover or an above-ground pool, all standing water needs to be pumped off the cover

We’re running a very tight schedule this week, so please understand — if your cover isn’t pumped off or your water level isn’t ready, we may not be able to service your pool until after the holiday. We hate to say it, but it’s the reality of Memorial Day week!

Thank you for your patience and understanding — we truly appreciate every one of you. Let’s get those pools open! 🏊‍♂☀️

It was a wet morning but we got it done! 🙌🏽 New heater installed for our clients to add extra life to their pool!

Adding a heater always you to open earlier, close later and get lots of added time in between with those party poopers who don’t like cold water 🤪

We all see the adds- “just one scoop is all you need”.
There’s no cheat code to a clean, balanced pool — and that’s okay.

We also see it a lot: people blindly dumping in shock, adding clarifier, tossing in a floater, and wondering why the water still isn’t right. The truth is, pool chemistry isn’t complicated, but it does require a foundation.

At the end of the day, three things run the show:
🔹 Alkalinity — This is your buffer. It keeps your pH from swinging all over the place. Get this stable first.

🔹 pH — Has to be in range or your chlorine is basically just expensive water. High pH? Your chlorine is lazy. Low pH? It burns off too fast and eats your equipment. (Your ph will be temporarily elevated after shocking your pool)

🔹 Free Chlorine — This is your sanitizer. But it only does its job when the first two are dialed in.
Order matters. Balance your alkalinity, then pH, THEN worry about your chlorine.

⚠️ One thing a lot of people don’t know about:
If you’re using stabilized chlorine tablets or stabilized shock (anything with cyanuric acid), you can end up in chlorine lock — where your test strips or kit show low or zero chlorine even though you’ve been adding it consistently.

This happens when your cyanuric acid (stabilizer) level gets too high. The chlorine is technically there, it’s just bound up and can’t sanitize effectively. The fix usually means a partial drain and refill to dilute the stabilizer — not just throwing more chlorine at it.

There’s no magic product that skips the process. Test your water, work the chemistry in order, and your pool will reward you. 💦

👋 A quick reminder— especially if you’re new here or thinking about joining us!

We’re a small, family-run operation — just three of us: Jeremy, Megan (husband & wife), and our newest team member Joey.

Small team, but we serve a large clientele across the tristate area.

Jeremy is on the road 6 days a week, servicing 7–10 pools from 9–5. While he’s out, he’s also training Joey, so calls and messages during the day may go unanswered until he’s off the road.

This year, Megan has taken on double duty — still handling all scheduling, billing, reminders, and day-to-day communication, and handling weekly cleaning clients herself.

We truly appreciate your patience and grace as we do our best to get back to everyone. For the fastest response, text is always the way to go!

What to Expect When Starting Weekly Pool Service with Dash Bros 💧

When you first sign up for weekly maintenance , we want to be upfront about something important—your pool may need a little extra attention before it settles into a smooth, low-maintenance routine.

If your pool isn’t currently clear, balanced, and running efficiently, the first phase is all about getting it on the right path.

That can look like:
• Multiple visits in the beginning to get the water clear
• Extra chemicals to properly balance and stabilize everything
• Adjustments to your system to make sure it’s running the way it should

Because of this, your initial bills may be higher than a typical weekly service—and that’s completely normal. We’re not just maintaining at that point, we’re correcting, restoring, and setting your pool up for long-term success.

Once we get your pool:
✔ Clear
✔ Balanced
✔ Consistently maintaining

That’s when we transition into a true weekly maintenance routine, where things become more predictable, efficient, and cost-effective.

Our goal isn’t just to clean your pool—it’s to get it to a place where it stays clean.

We believe in doing it right the first time so you can enjoy your pool without the stress.

If you have questions about what your specific pool might need, we’re always happy to walk you through it!

Random thought of the day as I was working along side of landscapers at a couple jobs….

the absolute worst thing you can do for your pool is get grass in it. That’s a sure fire way to burn through your chlorine and turn your pool green or cloudy. If your landscapers are blowing grass clippings into the pool, they’re costing you money-More chemicals & More cleaning visits in between.

Luckily most of our clients have had the talk with their landscapers but it’s worth the reminder especially if it’s you doing your own lawn 🤣🤪

Lots of stops today for cleanings … some regular maintenance visits, some getting them cleaned up after opening. Cleaning can be so satisfying !

Tip of the day: if you’re not getting good water pressure from your jets, check your filter. If you have a sand filter you may need to backwash… if you have cartridge filters, they may need hosed down or replaced.

Today’s weather was a doozy but I figured it’s a great opportunity to share some pool balancing tips …

✨Cloudy pool = low/ no free chlorine = aka all those tiny particles making the cloudiness is algae. If you ignore the cloudiness it will turn faster than Jimmy Johns.

✨Cutting your grass towards your pool is the worst thing you could do for your pool. So just don’t. Unless you like throwing money in the wind on chemicals.

✨Ph, alkalinity and chlorine are the 3 most important things. Yes there’s other aspects that can play into it but 9 times out of 10 it’s as simple as those 3.

✨If your alkalinity & ph are out of balance, your chlorine won’t be as effective and may not read at all. Muriatic acid lowers your ph. And baking soda (or alkalinity up) increase your alkalinity & ph.

✨Don’t just blindly throw chemicals in without testing your water first. If you don’t want to take a water sample up every time, invest in strips or a kit to test at home.

✨ stop wasting your money on liquid shock (10-12%) & invest in a bucket of granular(73%). Many of our weekly clients have us buy a bucket to keep at their house to balance every week and it allows them to shock again if needed after a party or in between visits. (Just be sure to brush it in well to avoid liner staining !!)
