Another fabulous class!
“a parallel threading is the weavers playground” taught by Robyn Spady and hosted at Tabby Tree Weaver
All of these designs were woven on the same warp This is not a finished project, but a way for me to experiment with different colors and weights(some unexpected beauties!). I will keep this weaving with the patterns for future reference.
We learned so much about manipulating drafts with computer software and the possibilities of parallel drafts. Well worth my time.

I have returned home from Michigan FiberFest where I took a class taught by Tom Knisely on double weave. We learned to weave fabric that is double the width of our warp. Using one treadle sequence, your project opens like a book. By changing the treadle sequence you can weave a tube and by changing it again, you can weave two layers that are unconnected. Or you can go off of the beaten path and weave a tunic with a slit on each side of the bottom, a slit for a neckline, armholes and woven shoulder seams. (Bonus points if it fits your grandson!)

In my last post, I showed you a portion of my leftover weft strips. I also have boxes of strips cut from pieces of fabric (approx 1 yd) that were given to me or purchased at garage sales. Sooooo- I have been sorting by colors that look nice together and sewing strips into lengths. Only a small dent has been made in my stash but I am ending up with unique rugs. When I see how these sell, I will make a decision about using the rest or donating them to another weaver.
