I feel like this story is worth sharing.
A loyal annual gutter-cleaning customer asked us for a quote on washing their home last month. Her husband said, “I’ll just buy a pressure washer and do it myself.” No problem, I told her. I get it.
Got a voicemail from her the other day. Her husband did indeed buy a $400 box-store pressure washer, plus a ladder, detergent, and hose — about $750 all in.
Ten minutes into the DIY project, he set the ladder up wrong, went up, and came down a whole lot faster… breaking his arm and his leg. He also took out a picture window on the way down — over $4,000 to replace.
All to save $185.
And, he’s not golfing anytime soon, either. Be careful out there, folks.
Here’s the thing: there’s no shame in DIY. But there’s a reason we carry insurance, train on ladder safety, and use soft washing instead of blasting away on a 24-foot extension. The job looks simple from the ground. It rarely is.
Needless to say… we’re soft washing his house in a few weeks. If you’d rather skip the ER visit, we’re a phone call away. 🧼
