Half-dead Handiwork

Half-dead Handiwork Half-dead, fully alive. Leather goods for life.

If you ever watch a single rebind recap from me, it needs to be this one. This Easter Sunday inheritance is almost 100 years in the making and I couldn’t be more grateful to have played a small part in it.

There’s something truly special about heritage lev handiwork. A dollar amount can’t possibly cover the emotional charge of receiving a Bible from a loved one long after their gone and seeing their name on it.

Here’s to crafting with honor and making the kind of goods that leave an impact far deeper than any pocket or wallet. Happy Resurrection weekend!

This was one of the oldest, and certainly the biggest rebind I’ve ever gotten to take care of! Its owner came to me about a month ago wanted to get it taken care of specifically so it was ready to be passed on when the time comes; pen marks and coffee stains to boot.

Knowing this, nothing meant more than to pass it along and seeing it be handled like it was brand new while its proud owner remarked that it was exactly what he was looking for and that it will be in the family for the next few generations.

There’s a price tag attached to any business and product or service within. But in between, there’s moments like these that are worth far more. 🤟

Come take apart my wallet with me and see how it’s doing after about 6 months of use 😄

There’s something about our EZ wallet in this smooth black cowhide, not to mention that pop of red 😍

Itching to pull off a custom design on one of these.. anyone else grow up watching a Batman sporting red and black? 👀

Does the sound of this spine scratching scratch your brain just right? It always one of the most satisfying steps in a rebind to clean and red force the book spine!

Have you ever had a Bible fall apart? This might help explain why, and how you may not have even seen the reason 👀

Did you know leather could purr? Me neither 🤷‍♂️ tap in to the sounds of our EZ wallet in whiskey brown 😍

A reintroduction to the other side of half-dead handiwork: our service of book rebinding and restoration.

When we’re not pushin the limits of tomorrow with stitchless design, we’re tapping in to the classic craft of book binding with hand stitching and restoration. This here is a perfect example of a Bible full of too many memories and notes to let go of, so we ditched the cover instead.

A heritage level restoration complete with blue cowhide and silver stamping. This custom service and design consultations will be up soon on a new website!

Being different for the sake of being different isn’t good design, it’s just a different kind of copy cat.

For us, stitchless design isn’t an alternative or just a design variation. It’s a belief in something better: better design, better solutions, and better product.

So what’s different about us? Other than the obvious, our quality and care. Find out for yourself soon 👀
