I’ve seen a lot of places lately that have been affected by the hurricane and I’ve been to a few of them, including Boone, Tennessee, Jefferson, West Jefferson but today a friend of mine who pastors Phoenix Baptist Church in Lansing called me about getting a dumpster to the church. While I was there, he showed me the supplies they were taking in and explained to me that the jugs of water that were in the hallway we’re being used by people to flush the toilet, because most peoples water was out, and the people with wells didn’t have power to run the pumps to get water, and they were told they would not have power in the Lansing community for another SEVEN WEEKS! While I was walking around the church talking with him it never dawned on me as you can see in the pictures that the lights were on inside the church. For a split second I looked at Chris a little bewildered and said, if everybody is out of power in the whole community and you’re not getting any for another seven weeks, how does the church have power when everyone around you in the whole community is out and he said, that’s the thing we never lost power.

If you know where this church is, it sits high up on a hill way above everything. I instantly couldn’t help but think just like the “world” as night approaches and it’s black as coal back in the holler without any light/power to see, that church will be sitting high up on that hill shining it’s light for the community to see and get help from.

Most of this world is living in spiritual darkness (John1:1-14) and even a lot of churches have lost their “power” , but the good news is if you’re in darkness and have never seen/known the “Light”(Jesus) or maybe your out of the will of the Lord, you don’t have to wait SEVEN WEEKS for power, you can come to know Him now. (Romans 5:8)Then when the storms of life come whether physical or spiritual, you’ll know what it means in Psalm 121:1-2 it says: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth.
Acts 4:12-Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved

I know I couldn’t get a lot of pictures going down the road but this town looks to be just as bad as some of the worst I have seen and they could definitely use help as well. As for now Preacher Chris told me they were good on most things but could really use batteries. If you could help with some of that, I’m sure they would be very appreciative or I would be glad to make sure he gets them.

I know it’s only 3 stumps, but when they are 55, 51, and 31 inches across the stump that takes up a little bit of yard. Customer wanted her yard fixed where she could mow it easy so it was more cost-effective to have the stumps ground and with a few loads of dirt and some grading all she’s doing is waiting for the grass to come up. if Liberty Roll Offs & Site Improvement can help you with any projects like this.
