Here’s how the conversation went I’m assuming when they installed and painted the door.

Steve: Alright Juan the door is installed go get the silicone and paint.
Juan: Why silicone and what about primer?
Steve: We ain’t got time for primer, it’s about beer thirty.
Juan: Why silicone?
Steve: Slap a couple coats on it.
Juan: Done, painted. What am I doing with silicone?
Steve: Slap some silicone in various places for whoever has to deal with this when it peels.
Juan: Were you hugged enough as a child?
Steve: Mind your business, I was adopted and nobody loved me.
Juan: Find a new helper, I quit and get some therapy.
Steve: I got booze and silicone, I’m good.

Please prime your doors and stop using silicone, it’ll be greatly appreciated.

All shutters were painted in Tricorn Black using Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Enamel Satin.

All door casings, garage casing, fascia trim, columns etc.. caulked using Dap Extreme Stretch then painted using Sherwin Williams Rain Refresh in Extra White Satin.

recently released Emerald Symmetry, the new zero‑VOC, plant‑based interior coating that appears to be replacing the Emerald Designer Edition line. Symmetry is marketed for its smooth application, rich color, and improved environmental profile.

On this project, coverage performance fell short of expectations, especially compared to Designer Edition in my opinion which consistently delivered stronger hide. The finish leveled out cleanly with vibrant, consistent color, but overall results didn’t stand out as an upgrade.

Every product performs differently from job to job, and real‑world testing is the only way to see how new coatings perform.

Will it be used again, yes.
Is designer edition better, yep!

Never get a door installed by Lowes.

After many headaches, months gone by, multiple doors and delays they didn’t even paint the casing, fill nail holes or caulk. And after that nonsense then the customer had to track down a contractor for an estimate to submit to Lowes which was another problem.

Nail holes filled, caulked and painted using Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Enamel in Extra White.

We’ve been here before 🍿🍿🍿

3 bedrooms of this of this home are popcorn free, the last 3 rooms. This customer first had us remove the popcorn in both bathrooms and laundry/utility room then the living room/kitchen at an earlier date and we just came back to finish off the last 3 rooms.

All areas were prepped/protected then popcorn texture was wet-scraped, drywall repairs were made and skimmed with 2 coats of an ultra-lightweight joint compound.

Ceilings were sanded using the Festool dustless sanders, primed/sealed using Premium Pro Block then painted 2 coats using Sherwin Williams Premium Ceiling Paint.

Walls will be painted by the customer.
