Millvale Community Library and Millvale Tool Library will be CLOSED on Saturday, May 23rd so our Staff and Volunteers can enjoy a long Memorial Day weekend! We will be back with regular hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

MCL will be a Stage during Millvale Music Festival on Saturday, May 16th! This is the schedule for musicians playing here and you can head over to MMF's website millvalemusic.org or download their app to see who else is playing this weekend and where! As a reminder, Millvale Tool Library will be CLOSED on Saturday and so will some of the side streets near the Library. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY if you are thinking about visiting the Library or Millvale this weekend!

The Millvale Community Library’s Tool Lending Library makes it easy for neighbors to build, fix, and create—without the high cost of buying tools. With more than 1,000 tools available to check out for free with a library card, community members can complete home repairs, try DIY projects, and learn new skills without financial barriers or storage challenges. Sharing tools also promotes sustainability by reducing waste and encouraging reuse.

Your support helps us keep this collection accessible and growing. We offer free workshops, tool safety training, and guidance from expert volunteers, so patrons feel confident using what they borrow. Together, we’re building skills, saving money, and strengthening our Millvale community—one project at a time.

The Library and Millvale Tool Library are back to regular hours for the rest of the week, including all scheduled programming! A few IMPORTANT snow related things to note - this a long post but please read it all! While The Borough of Millvale, PA is hard at work removing snow from our streets, parking is still very limited throughout the Community. Please allow extra time if you are coming to our Death Cafe tonight (this one is FULL but keep an eye out for info for the next one in February). We know you’re itching to return those tools, but please keep in mind we don’t charge late fees and you can always call us to extend your due date. It may be a good idea to wait on large item returns until next week, but give us a call at 412-822-7081 if you need to return tools and can’t find anywhere to park. We **MAY** be able to come out and help **DURING TOOL LIBRARY HOURS ONLY**! Our Library staff is strong and mighty but only our Tool Library Volunteers are able to carry heavier items so please don’t even ask unless it’s during Tool Library hours because we will kindly tell you NO. Please be careful, with temps this low, even the salted sidewalk and deck can still be slippery! Take it slow! Our back deck, backyard and ramp from the alley are CLOSED until further notice. Millvale Free Fridge and Pantry is still open and available 24 hours a day and, yes, we are aware things are freezing in there so we are trying to be mindful of what items we are stocking. Come inside if you need food (or diapers!) during open hours, there is a small back stock of items inside. We are ALL struggling with this weather related mess so PLEASE BE PATIENT AND KIND TO YOUR NEIGHBORS. We are all in this together!

*MODIFIED HOURS ON TUESDAY 1/27* Millvale Community Library will be open from 12:00pm-5:00pm but the Tool Lending Library will be CLOSED. We’ll be back to regular hours on Wednesday. Stay Safe and Help Your Neighbors!
