One of our favorite details from this galley kitchen remodel... floating shelves!

These floating shelves turned out great against the white tile backsplash.

We feel it added a little warmth to the space while keeping everything open and functional (and the homeowners loved it too).

This range hood installation was part of a larger kitchen remodel. The stainless steel dialed the whole space together, and the homeowners were especially excited to see this piece come together. πŸ™Œ

Quick BTS... the reality of being a handyman.

You spend all week working on everyone else's houses, and then you come home to your own project zone.

When my wife and I finally bought this place a little over a year ago, we were just so incredibly happy to officially own a home πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ. We had a ton of plans to fix it up, but between a packed client schedule, our own house always gets pushed to late nights and weekends.

This is a little throwback to finally getting some primer on our own walls. It takes forever when you can only chip away at it in your spare time, but it feels different when you are putting that sweat equity into a place you actually own.

Huge thanks to all our clients who keep us busy on the clock, even if it means my own to-do list has to wait 🧑

No time lapse this time. Careful baseboards removal so we don't tear up the drywall.

When sheetrock acts up in a high corner like this, the trick is isolating the exact issue. We opened up just enough area to find some damp insulation, let the framing dry out completely, and cut the drywall cleanly back to the center of the studs.

It is tempting to throw a quick patch over a spot like this to save time. BUT without a solid piece of wood to screw into, that corner will just shift and crack again. Getting the framing prep right now means the final texture blends in seamlessly and stays invisible for the long haul.

If you have been told you have to rip out the whole wall to fix one pipe, they might be wrong. πŸ‘€

No sense in cutting out the whole stack if you don't have to!

Here, we are creating a clean opening for this branch connection so the new plumbing can tie in smoothly. A socket saver was used to ream out the old pipe and shave the inside of the hub clean. It gives us a perfect surface for a new weld without all the extra demolition and messπŸ’‘
