RIP Dr. Elaine Ingham 🌱🪱🔬

She founded the Soil Food Web School where I studied soil/compost microbiology and first became fascinated by the life beneath our feet.

Her work reshaped how many of us think about soil, not as dirt, but as a living ecosystem.

That education directly inspired me to start Georgia Worm Company and focus on helping people build healthy soil from the ground up.

Grateful for what she contributed. Time for her to rest, and for her students to keep pushing the work forward.

A lot of “all-purpose” fertilizers can turn into money down the drain after rain/watering.

Especially for crops like carrots, it takes the guesswork out of spacing and helps me get neat, even rows without overthinking it.

Do I always follow the rules? Not exactly 😅 but this gives me a great framework to space things out the way I want to.

🌱🌶️ Healthy Soil, Happy Peppers

This wasn’t a planned side-by-side test, but it turned into a perfect example of what good soil can do.

My client planted peppers in store-bought potting mix, but they struggled. When he told me about it, I suggested we mix up a handcrafted living soil together. The difference? One tote is thriving and loaded with peppers, while the other never really took off.

The takeaway is simple: healthy soil = healthier, more productive plants 🌿
