Today, we honor the life and legacy of LaMarr Franklin, former Board President of MLK EDC and a true champion for our community.

LaMarr’s leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to economic development helped shape the direction of our organization and the future of the neighborhoods we serve. His passion for progress and belief in community empowerment left a lasting impact that will continue for generations.

In recognition of his dedication and service, MLK EDC proudly named the Five Points Development in his honor. A tribute to a man whose work helped build opportunity, stability, and growth in our community.

LaMarr Franklin’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the projects he inspired, and the progress he helped create.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Join MLKEDC for a one-day special edition of the Bronzeville Restaurant Crawl on December 18th. The evening begins with dining stops at Rise And Grind Cafe, Summer of 85 and Garfield’s 502/Jewels 502, three standout restaurants in the King Drive district.

After dinner, attendees will head to Fiserv Forum for:
