It's been one week since the 250/190 Anniversary Celebration, and we're still smiling from an unforgettable weekend in Downtown Minden!

Over three incredible days, our community came together to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary and Minden's 190th Birthday with great food, live music, friendly competition, family activities, fireworks, and countless memories made along the way.

As we look back on the photos, videos, and stories from the weekend, we're reminded of what makes Minden special—our people. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, competed, performed, and helped make this celebration a success.

The 250/190 Celebration may be over, but the memories will last for years to come.

What a fun community-wide adventure!

We received more than 350 submissions for the Scavenger Hunt, and it was a joy seeing so many families, friends, and visitors exploring downtown and taking part in the excitement throughout the weekend.

A special thank you to our sponsors who generously donated prizes and helped make this activity possible. We are also incredibly grateful to Amy McGill and Abby Smith, who volunteered their time to plan and coordinate this project on behalf of Minden Main Street.

Congratulations to all of our winners! Prizes may be picked up at City Hall tomorrow after 1:00 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this another memorable part of Minden’s 190th Anniversary and America’s 250th Celebration.

Nearly 40 years of Minden Main Street history was represented this weekend, and we were honored to recognize the people who helped build the foundation of the program we know today.

A special thank you to Kathy Morgan, the original Main Street Director who launched the program in 1987. Kathy traveled from Wichita, Kansas, to join us for the celebration and share in this milestone weekend. We were also honored to welcome Judy Thompson, who served as director for 17 years during the Bill Robertson administration and traveled from Mena, Arkansas, to be part of the festivities.

Also recognized were former directors Becky White and Mahala Hutto. Mahala continues to be a tremendous resource and source of encouragement for our current director, always willing to answer questions and share her knowledge of the program.

Past board chairmen Larry Gipson and Shawn Hatcher were recognized for their leadership, including helping establish Grilling on Main nearly a decade ago. Former board members Thomas Adams, Alicia Adams, and Catherine Hunt were also acknowledged for their service and commitment to downtown Minden.

Representing the current board were Chairwoman Claudine Adams-Thomas, Brian Meeker, Jordan Cupples, Tamra Wichelns, Kasi Kendrick, and Kathryn Cropper, who, along with countless volunteers, worked tirelessly throughout the weekend to make the celebration a success.

Minden Main Street has thrived because of the vision, dedication, and countless hours invested by those who came before us. Thank you to every director, board member, volunteer, and supporter who has helped shape our downtown district over the last four decades. And thank you to current Executive Director Sarah Overall for carrying that mission forward and continuing the work of building a vibrant downtown for future generations.

A HUGE shoutout to everyone who helped make this weekend's 250/190 Anniversary Celebrations a massive success! We asked for Minden to show up and show out and you did just that!
