Harvesting our first batch of red potatoes. We used our grow bags from Bootstrap Farmer for our "mounds". The good thing about this was our mounds were neatly contained within the bag.

For first time potato growers, we are very proud of this harvest.

Our peas and radishes are coming along very nicely.

We started these from seed on June 26. It won't be long until we are transferring the radish to larger pots. ❀🌱🌿

Our first cucumbers of the season!! This year we only planted the smaller pickling varieties and we are excited to taste test these babies tonight!

It always happens, we end up with some yellow squash twins and this year we even had a triplet. I let this set go because they looked good and got to a reasonable size. It never affects the taste so I figure, why not?

And this is our second zucchini. I had the first one last night for dinner and it was delicious! So far our squash and zucchini plants are doing really well.

Good Sunday morning!

When was the last time you ever thought about your own food chain? When did you last think of all the steps for your food to go from farm to your table?

This graphic is a great illustration showing just how many steps it may take for your food to go from the farm to your table.

So, when you're deciding whether to have a small home garden or to support a local garden like ours, remember this graphic.

Why have all the unnecessary steps that involve added costs, lost freshness and less eco-friendly?

Support your local gardeners and farmers. πŸ…πŸ₯’πŸ₯¦πŸŒ½πŸ₯•πŸŒΏβ€
