About Deuce Cities Henhouse

My name is Alison Allen. I started Deuce Cities Henhouse, a blog about fixing up my 108-year-old Minneapolis home, in 2009. My family and I (my husband and two boys) moved into our current home seven years ago, and since then I’ve spent my time obsessing, updating, decorating, DIY-ing and renovating our home.

Our home is a constant work in progress and I love pushing myself to learn new skills as I go! I went to art school for photography and was obsessed the entire time with interior spaces and all things hands-on.

During the winter months you can find me inside, working on one of many projects. Most recently I completley renovated a basement bathroom, where I took on everything from plumbing to tiling. In the summer months you will find me shoeless in my garden, happily landscaping and working on our yard.
