The Arthur J. Altmeyer Federal Building's facade is a highly attuned passive design response to solar orientation.

Glazing is concentrated on the northern, public-side of the building and balanced with anodized aluminum to create an open and transparent expression that maximizes access to daylight. On the southern side, the facade gradates and becomes more opaque to balance solar heat gain and promote occupant comfort.

The River Hub at Graco Park as seen on this year's cover of the annual ENTER publication from AIA Minnesota, available now.

Part of a larger transformation of a former industrial brownfield along the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, the project pairs ecological restoration of Graco Park and its trails with new opportunities for community gathering, learning, and recreation created by the River Hub. Designed as a simple, shed-like wood structure, the building draws inspiration from the site’s past as a lumber mill while its modular construction, a high performance envelope, and minimization of embodied carbon support renewed environmental stewardship of the land.

Thank you to ENTER for the feature and words, and to Corey Gaffer for capturing this place in action.

Snow Kreilich was recently featured in Fortune, Forbes, and Entrepreneur, in a Twin Cities Business spotlight highlighting our approach to balancing “the pragmatic and the poetic” through architecture.

The feature touches on something we think about often: how architecture can balance performance and practicality with warmth, atmosphere, and a real sense of connection to place.

No matter the project type or scale, we strive to create environments that are thoughtful, enduring, and deeply connected to the people who experience them.

Big news: The Glade Rink + Pavilions has received a 2026 Future Projects Award in the Sports category from The Architectural Review.

Located in east Forest Park, this project reimagines the historic Steinberg Skating Rink as a year-round destination for recreation, gathering, and community connection.

Through adaptive reuse, expanded accessibility, ecological restoration, and high-performance systems, including geothermal infrastructure, the design transforms a beloved public space into a more inclusive and resilient community asset. Shaped by input from more than 6,000+ community members, the project reflects a shared vision for the future of public space.

We’re honored to see this work recognized on a global stage alongside visionary projects from around the world.

Public spaces are shaped over time by use and by the people who return to them.

We approach this work with a focus on purpose and connection to create environments that support and elevate everyday experiences and bring people together, emerging naturally from their environments.

Designed to be used, adapted, and made meaningful by the communities they serve.

Snow Kreilich has been profiled in the March/April issue of The Architect's Newspaper, out now. “From modern, multifamily buildings in historic districts to private homes and public buildings, the through line across [Snow Kreilich’s] broad portfolio is a quiet and serene voice—an approach rooted in the mindful melding of site, materials, details, and scale,” writes Frank Edgerton Martin.

Over the past 30 years, our work strives to integrate place and program. From infrastructure to intimate spaces, our designs are guided by the belief that architecture should reflect and support the communities it serves. We are honored to see our journey highlighted by The Architect’s Newspaper as we reflect on the ideas, people, and projects that have shaped our practice.

Special thanks to Frank, Jack Murphy, Isabel Ling, and the entire team at AN as well as all our incredible partners and collaborators over the last three decades.
