Very cool to see this project of ours in the news!

"Tower’s Historic Fire Hall tells the story of Tower as the first mining town on the Range, and offers Tower-Soudan-Lake Vermilion residents, seasonal residents and visitors a look into the social history of early iron ore mining in Minnesota. The building housed the city hall and jail, in addition to the fire department. It was used as a community center for social activities for many years after the city hall and jail were relocated in 1935. It was sold to a private party and leased to businesses after the Civic Center was built in the 1970’s. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in the theme of social history. "

TOWER- The Tower-Soudan Historical Society (TSHS) was just awarded a $285,618 Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage grant for the Tower Historic Fire Hall Exterior Rehabilitation. The grant, …

Beautiful work here by the City of Belview! We were honored to serve as the architect for the re-roofing project, and they finished their own painting. And happy 120th birthday to this building, Odeon Hall!

Happy 120th birthday to the Odeon Hall this year. A very special thanks to Jerry and Jacob Roy of Equity Builders for the great job they did on the roof project. Also, thank you to Pat Johnson for the fantastic job he did. All those hours of scrapping and prepping prior to the painting was really worth the effort.. The finished paint job looks wonderful.

Some good news: Todd and Angela had the privilege of teaching design studio at the U of MN last fall. Please join them in congratulating Jacob Schmitz on being named by the University of Minnesota School of Architecture for the Student Academic Excellence Award.

Jacob’s project for the Center for Architecture at the Washburn Crosby A Mill Complex was thoughtful, philosophically engaging, and beautiful. He challenged the premise and intent of historic preservation, as a profession, through his design. His rigorous approach was reflected in a project that juxtaposed highly refined adaptive reuse, that was as elegant as it was functional, with a technologically innovative material to mark the passage of time and decay of ruins.

Here's Jacob (far right) giving his final presentation in December. Congrats, Jacob!

Join us this Saturday for the official reopening celebration for the Arvonne Fraser (Southeast) Library!

We've been working hard on this project with our colleagues at Quinn Evans, and we're pleased to have had the opportunity to give new life to this Minneapolis icon.

Saturday's activities include a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m. plus performances by a U of M jazz trio between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a building-themed scavenger hunt. See you there!

Join us for a community celebration and ribbon-cutting with county leaders and library staff on Saturday, January 25.
