The update of the Ez GoTo controller on Windows free Stellarium

1. Fix the issue of the lost command sent from laptop’s Bluetooth :
We let the communication more reliable when using Bluetooth. The app sends commands again and again without any response. It happens when the BT signal is too weak or the antenna is blocked somewhere. Basically, the wired USB is always more reliable than Bluetooth. In the update, we try to sends commands several times in case.

2. The bug in motor learning when encoder passes zero :
We found the big problem when the encoders pass 0/4096 (0 to 360 degree). The Alt motor learning goes wrong because of the mistaken angle calculation. We did not find the bug becuase only using very limited range between +-90 degree in altitude. Luckily, we have fixed it and done a lot suspicious tests in the app.

3. The improvement of the motor learning :
In our stepper motor settings, goto motor speed is 4x faster (1/64 micro stepper). For example, the goto motor move forward 1024 steps first, and let the tracking motor go back 4096 steps. By the way, the DOB not only goes back to origin and let the tracking more accurate.

3. The app restores the results of the previous motors learning. It save much time if you choose a big number of steps.

4. The layout and color of the control panels make app more efficient, good looking and less space on the screen.

We will help the buyer to make connectors, label the wires and test the goto system (take a clip if requested) before packing them.

The buyer can wire and play them directly in few minutes out of the box if you have had a 20~24V DC power supply or a 12V battery with a DC-DC converter (contact us if you have any question).

We do our best to make wiring and power connected by the way of fool proof (such as fuse, diode, XH2.54 and PH2.0 connectors). However, the basic electric and mechanical knowledge are required in your goto project.

Inspecting the installation to improve the encoder accuracy after long term use

We apply the contactless magnet encoder in our system. The encoder magnets are specially selected one by one. The magnet must be centered extremely precisely (less than 0.1mm) to perform as its specification. We manufacture every drilling hole by CNC matching the selected screw to make sure encoder aligned plate tightly and centered well. However, there is a very little gap left between holes and screws.

1. Inspect the edges of the aligned plate from a view angle.
The visual inspection could recognize a spacing of 0.05mm.

2. The borderline of the plate are supposed to match the back PCB visually.

3. Adjust the plates position by loose and tight the 3 screws if necessary.
