I received a call this past Monday evening from a client who was experiencing multiple problems with a gas furnace in one of his rental properties. He had already decided that he wanted to replace the furnace with a new 95% efficient model. I called my supply contact and we met at the site on Tuesday evening. We determined the size of the furnace and the best course of action. A new floor had been recently installed through out the home and all existing cold-air returns had been inadvertently covered so new had to be installed along with the new furnace. Based on the time needed to gather supplies and construct a new plenum, along with the beautiful weather report slated for Thursday, it was decided that Thursday was to be the day for the swap. Mark from Mark's Supply of Waterville was an indispensable asset in this job as he is on every plumbing, heating, and electrical job. After moving some water-heater plumbing lines and grappling with the gas feed, the install went pretty well. A photo of the finished product is attached. Another warm tenant means another happy client!!!

After repairing the railings described a few posts ago I received a request from the same client to install new railings at a couple of building entrances. For railing construction I turned to Christian Fabrication in West Winfield. These guys do great work and have been around the block. They can make almost anything! I was going to have the railings powder coated but it proved very, very pricey. I acid-etched them, primed, and painted them in my shop with a quality spray paint. They will be painted every year so the spray paint should offer ample protection. Below are a few photos of various stages of the project, as well as the final results. The best outcome, of course, is the satisfaction of my client!

I am working on a tub surround for a client in Little Falls. Here are some photos of the progression. The owner originally wanted to have me install a fiberglass surround because he thought it would be much cheaper than tile. I explained that the difference is only about $200 with his material choices, so tile it is. I will post some pics of the finished product.
