ARCADE UPDATE...Well this is really funny, I got more information on what was happening with the new arcade. I went to post that information and so much for truth. Turns out I'd been suspended out of Molalla Now until 10/31. Guess we're not allowed to express our opinions if it differs from the city's idea. So what has really happened, The saw shop was classified as a tractor repair, Which made trip numbers very very low. And they are wanting to classify the arcade as an amusement park, which makes the trip numbers very, very high. When they first took their business plan into the city they were told it would pretty much be a wash between the two businesses. Their business plan has never changed, what the city is trying to do is change the trip numbers. If the shop had been classified as a retail/repair store which it was, and the new arcade classified in the correct category, it would be a wash in fees, which is what they were told in the first meetings. They did know in phase two with building a new building, and food carts there would be more fees to pay. That is in phase two and not on the books to happen until they've been open for a while, next year. If the shop was classified as retail it's trip #'s would be 4. something, and the arcade in the correct category it's trip #'s would be 3.58. There is a lot of math involved, and they are trying to Categorize the new arcade as an amusement park, Which would be over twenty five thousand sq feet, with rides ect. Instead it needs to be classified in the same category as a bowling alley. The best way to find out everything, because it really is complicated is go to the city council meeting. Suffice it to say they did their homework, and nothing on their side has changed except the city wanting to reclassify them, into something they're not. They had the 64,000.00 sprung on them, after the fact, because there have been Misclassifications done by the city after the fact.
