This stump was leftover from a storm damaged tree that we previously finished removing the canopy and the majority of the main stem. Even though the stump had rot damage in the center they still wanted to try and utilize it for something because of its ideal location at the entrance of this beautiful vineyard and meadery. I made a custom carved sign for the front and carved a silhouette of a blue heron on the back wall and the center hole made a great spot for a planter so I made a center support inside the stump for the plants out of an old piece of the canopy. I’m happy we were able to give pieces of this aftermath new purpose and make something to greet visitors of Bears Bluff Meadery and Deep Water Vineyard for years to come.

Here are a few things we’ve been working on lately. A carved flamingo from a pine tree we removed. The legs are formed and welded steel so the sculpture can be free standing. Also some pruning jobs along with a removal of a large dying water oak.

ISO My client’s stolen bear!
This was a custom piece I carved for my client that was part of a set of steps and served as the handrail for the entrance of this building.
I was informed that it had been stolen and within two days was able to track it’s location down and it must have been purchased hours before I was heading to retrieve it from the thief. I’m not looking to get anyone in trouble for being in possession of stolen goods because it’s not your fault, but we would appreciate if you came forward before they pull the thief’s phone records because this is now an open case with Berkeley County.
