A rarely offered native!
Adelinia grandis (formerly Cynoglossum grande), Pacific Hound's Tongue
We are so excited to be able to share this ecologically vital woodland PNW native. The early-spring blooms nectar source for native pollinators, particularly bumblebees. The foliage acts as a food source for many native insects, such as the Wild Forget-me-not Moth (Gnophaela latipennis).
Tall flower stalks of forget-me-not like flowers bloom above the basal arrow-shaped leaves of this Pacific Northwest native. Grows in well-draining soils in diverse habitats such as the open landscape beneath oak savannahs and chaparral. This tap rooted plant can be challenging to establish, but it is very worthwhile for those who wish to rise to the occasion.
