With the temperatures coming Friday-Sunday everyone please check their well pits and pump houses. With no snow the wind finds every crack to get through! Make sure your heaters/heat lamps are working! Here is a couple examples of what you can do to help keep the heat in your well pits. If you have a Hog Building with the insulate tube coming through the wall it’s a good idea to surround that with straw or hay bales. We are here if you need us!

With -30 windchills tonight everyone be sure to check their heater and heat lamps in your well house and well pits. The snow will definately help with sealing up cracks but some still require straw to help keep the heat in!

Everyone please check your well pits to be sure your sump pumps are working!!! If you don’t have a sump pump you may check and see if it’s flooding and get one in there. Trying to save everyone the headache!

We have been fortunate this winter that we have not had any terribly cold weather…Until Today and Tomorrow! If you have a well pit try to put a heater in it then cover the top with a tarp, blanket, or straw bales. We have no snow for insulation so everything is freezing.. Hog house guys putting straw around your insulated tube coming up on the outside of your buildings is a good idea also for the next couple days.

Everyone with a well pit or well house be sure to double check your heaters or heat lamps. This snow is helping insulate but there is still a lot freezing up. Hog house guys wouldn’t hurt to leave your work room sink running over night for next few nights. Just trying to save everyone a headache if possible!
