My sweet Remy. Thank you for all of your help and wisdom. She’s the reason our seed shop even opened. ♥️

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of seed saver Remy Rotella (Orlowski) on Thursday, August 6. Remy was a fixture at heirloom seed swaps around the U.S. and was particularly passionate about tomatoes. “She was a tomato lady from way back,” said fellow seed saver Bevin Cohen. She was responsible for introducing tomato varieties that are familiar to seed savers today, such as the Plan 9 From Outer Space and the Santa Maria. Remy also ran The Sample Seed Shop, an online store where she only sold seeds that she had grown herself. Remy spoke at the 2019 National Heirloom Expo and also helped to organize the expo seed swap last year. Our hearts go out to Remy’s family and the large community of those who knew and loved her. Her friends encourage the planting of an heirloom variety in her honor.

Finally have everything repotted and organized in the greenhouse. 40 varieties of superhots, variegated Eureka lemon tree, Australian finger lime, 20 2nd year plumerias I grew from seed, mutant peppers and a Moringa tree 🥰
