Thanks to Nat. Guard training, I had been off for a few weeks (so please excuse my temporary absence :D)

After some work with Cascade Custom Decks, my neighbor and I got down with finishing "Operation Extend Bedroom Into Garage." I've built rooms in garages before, but this one was a bit of a first in a few categories. Thankfully, wiring and framing weren't one of those. **Please always work within the building codes of your jurisdiction. (RCW for you WA state granola-eaters)

Happy almost-fall!🍁🍎

Thanks to this Lynnwood customer for allowing me to swap out the old yellow linoleum, tub, and vanity for a new, crisp, updated bathroom! It’s always tricky working in a tighter space, with all my tools & the materials, but it’s done and looking great:D

Texture Experiment for everyone:
sometimes a genius forgets his tools for the very thing he left his house for…🤦‍♂️ (like the air compressor and spray gun)

Anywho… what I DID have on site, already, was some painting supplies and all purpose joint compound. Below are 3 different applications I tried, accompanied with pics of the product and the result:

1) 4” mohair roller

2) 4” with a 1/4” nap roller

3) a cheap ol’ 2” disposable brush

The winner??- the cheap crappy brush!! While I wouldn’t use it for more than a square foot (bristles eventually will break down and get gummed up), it worked pretty darn well, considering what I had on hand, and for some light drywall touchup 🙂

The technique I used was pouring the watery drywall joint compound into a trough (or any kind of container) and just dab it on the wall to cover the repair. This would work for knockdown texture as well, as you would just wait 5 to 10 minutes and then lightly pull down using a putty knife or drywall blade, etc.

Pro-tip! Put a tarp down before the debris comes down, to mitigate time sweeping🧹🚮

Sometimes it’s remodeling an entire bathroom, and other times it’s pulling a dead rat out of the crawl space!🐀

Improving your home should expand the soul for everyone. I like taking the wee ones on some of the many adventures going on throughout a home renovation. Even Jovie is fascinated by the infinite opportunities that a dwelling can have.

Corr Home Improvement is open for business! My aim is to improve the palaces or shacks in Snohomish, Skagit, and King Counties. Think of me as your projection for the imagination you have in mind. I would be pleased to be involved in elaborating/repairing the space you call home.

This page is meant to inspire and inform (if it entertains you, too, then great). The victories & blunders posted on here should only serve you to learn from experiences, good or bad. I invite questions as well, about techniques, jobs, opinions, and intercommunication from others, as well.
