What to do when you have storm damage! 💨

-Secure your home. 🏠
Regardless of the type of damage, you need to make sure that further damage isn’t going happen. A few missing shingles can become a leak, loose siding can rip off and hit a car or other parts of the home. If you can’t secure the property, contact someone to help…quickly.

-Have it inspected. 👀
Contact a qualified, licensed and insured contractor to assess the damages. Sometimes 1 missing shingle is just that…1 missing shingle. But other times, entire portions of the roof may be loose or damaged. Damage is not always visible from the ground.

-Decide how to pay for the damage. 💰
Most home damages can range from a few hundred dollars to 10s of thousands…deciding to make ,or not make, an insurance claim can be stressful. Will they raise my rates? Will they cancel me? Not likely on both those.
Usually your insurance company requires you to pay a deductible amount you’re responsible for regardless of the claim amount. These typically range from $1000 to $5000. If your damage is more than that cost, you probably should file a claim. If it’s less, you should just pay for the repair yourself. Save the receipt and document the repairs. This may help down the road

This is key! Inspecting the damage is more than just hoping on the roof and taking pictures. Knowing the shingle manufacture, repair methods, building codes, and understanding insurance claims and their processes is critical. Patching your roof this time can lead to denial of a claim on the next storm if it’s not handled correctly! Don’t let fear of making a claim cost you coverage in the future.

Last week we spent sometime refining our skills, learning new ones, scoping out new products and technologies all while networking with other companies in the roofing industry to help provide the best experience for our customers... since it was Vegas, We also had some time to blow off some steam and party a bit…

⚜️ MARDI-BRA COLLECTION & CELEBRATION ⚜️

Today through 02/17 (Fat Tuesday!) we will be collecting (NEW) bras, underwear, socks, and menstrual products. We will gladly take any basic toiletries as well ! All items will be distributed to local shelters & clothing pantries ~ we will also keep some here (in our newly cleaned up storage room!) for anyone in need. On “Fat Tuesday” we will celebrate what I hope will be a successful community drive!

This idea has lived with me for years now. I always wanted to team up with a local business but it never came to fruition, well, now I have a business of my own in a great location so there are NO excuses!

Why are we collecting these products in particular?
These items are often the most difficult for unhoused or low-income community members to get ~ despite being some of the most basic needs. The general reasoning being that most donations come when people are cleaning out their closets (clothes, blankets, shoes, etc). These items (obviously) cannot be “used” and tend to be some of the most expensive of basic needs.

All donations will be greatly appreciated! I understand that the economy is tough for everyone ~ just remember that every small item or effort adds to the collective.
