Why I Serve: Gary Davis

At Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity our mission is powered by dedicated volunteers and leaders who believe everyone deserves a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.

Today we’re proud to highlight Gary Davis our Vice President and Past Board President as part of our Why I Serve campaign.

Gary has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since 2007, serving communities in Wallace, Wilmington and now Union-Anson County. After a distinguished 26 year career in the U.S. Navy and a second career supporting advanced government research and development. Gary continues to dedicate his time and talents to helping others.

For Gary one of the most rewarding aspects of Habitat is seeing future homeowners invest in their own homes and witnessing the life changing impact that homeownership brings to families. His commitment to supporting our staff, volunteers, and partner families helps strengthen our mission every day.

Today we’re spotlighting Theresa Donaldson, Board Treasurer, in our Why I Serve campaign.

For Theresa serving on the Board has provided a firsthand look at the incredible impact Habitat has on families and communities. From helping families achieve the dream of homeownership to supporting critical home repairs and the work of our three ReStores. She has witnessed how hope is built every day through Habitat’s mission.

🎉 Celebrating 35 Years of Building Hope, Community, and Opportunity!

This week Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity proudly celebrates 35 years of serving families and strengthening communities across Union and Anson Counties. For more than three decades we have remained committed to creating safe affordable housing and empowering families through partnership, compassion and community support.

As part of this special milestone, we are honored to recognize two outstanding community leaders during our Community Leaders Awards Luncheon:

Recipient of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Award
Honoring her extraordinary dedication, leadership and lasting impact on the mission of Habitat for Humanity and the families we serve.

🔨 Mr. Drew Lamb

🎉 Retirement Celebration Post

This past Friday we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Ms. Ana after many years of dedicated service at the ReStore.

Her hard work, kindness and commitment have made a lasting impact on our team, our customers, and the community we serve through Habitat for Humanity. Ms. Ana has been a valued part of the ReStore family and while we will truly miss seeing her each day we are excited for her as she begins this new chapter of life.

Thank you, Ms. Ana, for your years of service, your positive spirit and the difference you’ve made along the way. We wish you a retirement filled with joy, rest, family and many new adventures!
