Isabella tiger moth According to folklore, the longer the black bands, the longer, colder, snowier, and more severe the winter will be. If the brown in the middle is wider that indicates a mild winter. If the head is dark that means the beginning will be the worst while if the tail is dark the end will be the coldest. There are 13 segments on its body which corresponds with the 13 weeks of winter. Have you noticed a woolly bear in your area? What is your weather prediction?

Our Story

Fulcher’s Garden comes to you after 30 years in the making, and started as a love of plants sown in the heart of a little girl helping in her grandfather’s garden many moons ago. While the seasons came and went, the seed somehow managed to always get just the right amount light and nourishment and now with the right conditions, has grown into a full blown passion.

Jennifer first fell in love with the Christmas cacti that put on the best shows every year at her Nanny’s house. Now that love has expanded to include a bountiful greenhouse full of well over 1000 varieties of cacti, houseplants, succulents, and tropicals that we are proud to have the opportunity to share with you. While we do our best to offer a wide variety of plants, if you can’t quite find what you’re looking for – just ask! You never know what we might have rooting and waiting for the perfect conditions.

In addition to providing you with the highest quality plant babies, we want to help you be successful “plant parents.” So we’ve decided to put our love of all things plant-talk on paper. That’s right - we’ve got a blog that features how-to articles, our favorite product recommendations, design ideas, and a myriad of other greenhouse topics that comes to mind while we’re passing the day pruning and propagating. If there is something you’d like more information about, please let us know! We’d be happy to answer any questions directly, or perhaps share the information with other inquiring minds via the blog.
