It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved founder, George Dean. George was a highly respected nursery product grower who started Dean's Evergreens in 1968 on just seven acres of land. Through his hard work and dedication, the business grew to 174 acres in Elk Township.
George's contributions extended far beyond his business. He devoted much of his life to public service, including four years as mayor, a full term on the State Board of Agriculture, and leadership as president of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association. He also served for over 40 years on the Gloucester County Board of Agriculture and the New Jersey Farm Bureau.
George’s legacy continues through his son, Brian, who has succeeded him in leading the family business. He will be deeply missed by his family, colleagues, and the many communities he served.
