The fire was devastating, but in its aftermath, certain parcels in Altadena now have an opportunity to reimagine housing through SB1123 and a more thoughtful, community-oriented density.

Our design proposal explores how new multifamily development can still preserve the character of Altadena. We retained the iconic front-facing gable roof as a tribute to the neighborhood’s architectural language, while transforming the upper roof area into accessible roof gardens and shared outdoor space.

We’re honored that this project received the “Most Collaborative Design” award in the Multifamily Category at the AIA Altadena Rebuild Competition.

The Randolph Complex represents our commitment to contemporary forms that respect their surroundings. Located in the heart of Los Angeles, this project was an exercise in scale and serenity.

By balancing a substantial 7,500 sq ft program across two stories, we’ve created a retreat that prioritizes clean lines and framed views. Whether it’s the sunlit terraces or the way the structure layers into the landscape, every detail was designed to feel intentional.

Architecture is most successful when it solves for density without losing the human element. A home should be a sanctuary—whether it’s designed for one family or three. 🌿
