Modern Exteriors is an exterior remodeling company founded in 1973 by Glenn Atkinson, a third-generation contractor who grew up in the industry. With deep roots in the Springfield, MO, area, Glenn’s goal was to provide local homeowners with the exterior renovation products and services they needed to beautify, protect, and improve their residences. There were other contractors in the region, of course, but all too often they were more interested in expanding their business and boosting their bottom lines than doing what was best for their customers. Glenn’s strategy wasn’t to become the largest exterior remodeling company in the state – it was to become the best. A lofty ambition, no doubt about it, but as his grandfather used to say, a superior home improvement company should be “where quality and price become friends.” And that has been Glenn’s guiding principle from day one.
