Today’s cleaning involved a customer thinking their dryer wasn’t working at all. Upon arrival i entered the attic and located the dryer vent, it was covered in spray foam. After taking a chunk of spray foam away i was greeted by a big birds nest.

Luckily there weren’t any birds inside but it was packed in tight as if it had been there for a long time. I removed the nest and whatever lint that was packed in it aswell. I Took the connecting pipe down stairs for cleaning, got off the remaining spray foam from the ends and prepped it for reinstallation.

Took everything back up stairs and reinstalled everything to get it working like brand new. Proper air flow for heat to escape out the vent and no more clogged vent cap.

And there you have it; Another vent rescued!

On today’s 3rd cleaning this customer stated it took multiple cycles to dry clothes and it just simply took way too long so they knew something was wrong.

Upon arrival i wasn’t greeted with a dryer vent when i went into the attic but instead it was located on the exterior roof line. Interesting to see as this is my 3rd time seeing something like this. I took the vent cap off and fed my reverse skipper nozzle down the vent and turned it on to clean it from the outside.

Once i cleaned it from there i took everything inside to clean it from the bottom to ensure everything was out. when i was done i cleaned everything up and put the vent cap back on the outside and reattached the hose to the back of the dryer.

and there you have it; another dryer vent rescued!

On today’s 2nd cleaning this customer called about having to dry their clothes multiple times and even sometimes just wasn’t dry after multiple cycles.

Upon arrival i disconnected the hose from the back of the dryer and was met with a total blockage on the vent. along with the total blockage the hose on the back of the dryer was ice cold indicating a moisture problem off the bat which also led me to believe it was clogged from top to bottom. I scooped out what i could at the bottom and went into the attic to disconnect the piping to clean out what was clogged. i brought the connection pipe down from the attic to get a thorough cleaning and continued to utilize the same reverse skipped nozzle to clean the vent from the bottom. once i got all the wet lint out i took the connector piece back upstairs to reattach everything. i then cleaned up the mess behind the dryer and put the hose back on the dryer and vent.

and there you have it; another dryer vent rescued!

On today’s cleaning this customer called due to having a visible blockage on the vent on the outside of the roof.

Upon arrival i did an inspection in the attic and everything looking good with the vent with minimal blockage. just had the appearance from the outside. I came back down and cleaned everything from the inside. i also replaced their damaged hose on the back of the dryer connecting to the attic vent itself then put everything back together how i found it.

and there you have it; another dryer vent rescued!

On today’s cleaning this customer had their house built in 2012 and never had the dryer vent cleaned. They described to me that it took several times to dry their clothes fully and was recommended to get it cleaned.

Upon walking into the attic space i was greeted with dryer vent that was approximately 25 feet long but the roof vent was sealed off with some sort of epoxy(I hate these with a passion). After realizing the opening was just big enough for the vent itself it was going to be a task getting this one out. I disconnected the vent in the middle then at the elbow right above the dryer. I went back to the vent cap and made some relief cuts. after that i manipulated the vent in a circular motion to break that epoxy free allowing for the vent to come out of the roof vent. The roof vent was clogged severely with roughly 5-10% light and airflow coming through. I removed all the lint from up there then continued with my cleaning process

Once everything was detached in the attic i took both pieces down to get cleaned out. when i was done with that i moved inside to clean it from the bottom and wrap everything up.

To finish i cleaned behind the dryer, got all the lint from the yard. i removed all old heat shield tape off and took the attic vent pieces back upstairs and reattached them in the proper order and sealed them up with heat tape.

And there you have it; another vent rescued!

This customer contacted me about cleaning their dryer vent because it’s never been done and had a few issues drying clothes.

Upon arrival into the laundry room the dryer was running a load of clothes but i noticed it was a bit warm in there. Pulled the dryer away from the wall and sure enough the hose isn’t even connected to the dryer or the vent properly. this is due to the wrong hose being used, you always want the silver flexible hose and not a range hood hose.

After i checked everything out in the attic i cleaned it out from the bottom utilizing the reverse slipper nozzle and air hose. Got everything cleaned up and informed the home owner they’d need a correct hose for the back of the dryer. once the owner ok’d the corrective action i went to the store and gathered the right hose. I connected everything back and even used some old hardware that was already in place to make things easier for the next go around.
