This summer is my summer of simplicity- not watering flowers all summer but embracing the trend of fake it so you make it! Haha! Yes, I’ve become the 90 year old happy soul who shoves fake flowers in all her pots and walks away feeling accomplished with color. My excuse- drought. My inspiration- Instagram. My time- hardly any. My heart- happy. I will support all the beautiful flower gardens around and place a vase of gorgeous realness on my dining table weekly. My vegetable garden can gain my attention and limited time.

Sometimes a girl needs to do a bit of design for herself, so creating a wreath, getting the garden planted, hanging the ladies of the garden in all their beauty, and refinishing a table that will sit in the garden to hold plants and tools……well, it calmed the chaos and is one of my favorite places to be ( thank you daddy for helping me design and build this special place).
Trying now to find the perfect chair to place in the “Secret Garden”……

You know it’s a great project when there is limited space on the Story Board…..somehow the days slip by without me posting on social media all that is happening in PETULA Design. I feel immensely blessed by my clients, the friendships built, the fun in dreaming up spaces, the colors and material choices, even the enjoyment in working with the subs to create the desired look and then to see a build become a beautiful home. But there is a lot going on with work, then add in the responsibilities of motherhood, wifehood, taking care of a home and all the behind the scenes of keeping a business running - it’s been hard to share all the fun with you all by social media with it being that busy! But I’m catching up so stay tuned to see some fun projects I’ve been working on…

Remember last Spring the remodel on the Hot Springs Inn in Ouray CO? Well, this Winter/ Spring was building 2! Same concept but we had to find different pieces due to items being unavailable that we placed in the first building….. and it turned out beautiful. I cannot express enough gratitude to the motel owner, staff, and contractor for having me on this project. Stay tuned as we hope to paint the exterior of the motel this Fall….. Book your stay friends…. And go enjoy the magic of this area called Ouray CO ♥️.
